The SASLAW Young Scholars Society (YSS) is excited to host it's first Hybrid Conference this year taking place on the 7th October2023 from 09:00am – 12:00pm at the A LES G02 -Auckland Park, Kingsway Campus, University of Johannesburg or online via ZOOM LINK. This event is targeted at Candidate Attorneys, young HR practitioners, advocate pupils, and Students.


Attendance is Free.


Attendees will receive a complimentary membership of the Society until March 2024 if are non-members at present.

    Ms. Phaladi A. Magongoa is the Head of Faculty Administration (HFA) at the Faculty of Law, University of Johannesburg with over 20 years of academic administration experience. She joined the RAU in 2003 as an Administrative Assistant and later held the Course Manager, Extracurricular Courses position from 2007 to 2012. She holds a BA Development Studies (RAU), Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law (UJ) and SLP Emerging Leadership Development Programme (UJ), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (JBS). She is currently pursuing her MBA with JBS, UJ. She has contributed a chapter in a book with the below details:

    Courtney obtained his LLB through the University of the Free State in 2016 and his LLM degree at Stellenbosch University in 2017.

    Courtney has been involved in a variety of matters including unfair dismissal disputes, unfair labour practice disputes and contractual claims. He is particularly interested and regularly involved in collective bargaining and collective employment law disputes including strikes and organisational rights disputes.
