    Maserumule Attorneys

    Maserumule specializes in all aspects of labour and employment law, and general litigation. He has acted as a Labour Court judge periodically since 1997 and as a High Court judge in 1999, with a number of his judgments reported in the labour law journals. In his capacity as an acting Judge of the Labour Court, he has been involved in interpreting labour legislation and building the new labour jurisprudence.

    Maserumule holds the BA and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town, a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law from Rand Afrikaans University and a non-degree certificate in Constitutional Litigation from Wits University. After completing his articles at Webber Wentzel, he joined Cheadle Thompson & Haysom as a professional assistant. In 1992, he co-founded Tshabalala Maserumule Attorneys and remained as a parner there until the formation of Maserumule incorporated in March 1998. In his capacity as an acting Judge of the Labour Court, he has been involved in interpreting labour legislation and building the new labour jurisprudence. He is also a member of the legal team that drafted amendments to the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Insolvency Act in June 2000. He is also an accredited mediator and arbitrator of IMSSA and AFSA.
